For over 25 years, I’ve been responsible for many new photographers entering the business. Most start out as assistants - and grow with my instruction into full fledged photographers. Some of these photographers stayed with me, and some went off on their own to build their own studios. I love to see this happen! While I miss them when they go, I love that they took what I taught them and made it their own. So, I decided to offer consulting on how to become a photographer. It’s not as easy as you might think! Photographer Education

I am also offering photographic education classes in a one on one setting. First, we have a consultation where we discuss your level of photographic knowledge. From there, I will work with you to design a curriculum that will be best suited to you. There are many factors to consider when learning photography, and I start with the basics of camera operation (in manual mode) and explain all the basics of photography. This will include understanding f-stops, shutter speed, ISO settings, the light meter inside your camera, ect. We will also discuss what format to work with, RAW, JPG, TIFF, ect. We will consider what software is best suited to process the images for the best possible outcome. We use software these days as we once used the darkroom. In the first class we have, I will supply you with a set of comprehensive notes that I have compiled as a study guide to get you started.
